Walnut, MS - Ravland "Ray" Stubblefield, 59, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at his residence in Walnut. He was born January 25, 1954 to the late Arizona and Betty Arnold Chandler Stubblefield in Illinois. He was a member of Jesus Name Community Church and a retired Engineer from IBM and Data General. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Jesus Name Community Church with Bro. Bro. Gary Porterfield officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Stubblefield of Walnut; one daughter, Shelley Heavener (Lionel) of Walnut; two sons, Ravland Stubblefield Jr. (Kei) of Walnut and Joshua Stubblefield (Verona) of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Patricia Hill of Woodville, AL, and Tammy McAllister of Scottsboro, AL; two brothers, Mike Stubblefield of Huntsville, AL and Robbie Gentry of Scottsboro, AL; five grandchildren, Tyler and Jenna Heavener of Walnut, Eiji Stubblefield of Walnut, Nanami and Asa Stubblefield of Tuscumbia, AL; two honorary grandchildren, Tony Hedge and Anna Lauren Inman. Pallbearers will be Tony Hedge, Russ Demoss, Bud Bates, Steve Adkins, Jay Thorson and Greg McAllister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Tina McGowen.
