 Albert Royce Burnett, 58, resident of the Ripley Community and beloved husband of Linda Gates Burnett, died Wednesday evening June 28, 2017 as the result of a motorcycle accident that occurred on Hwy 15 south of Blue Mountain in Tippah County.
  Funeral Services celebrating the free-spirited life of Albert will be at 2 PM Monday July 3 at the Faith Fellowship Church in Ripley with visitation three hours before services. His pastor, Bro. Warren Harrell will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Blue Mountain. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Born November 6, 1958 in Cape Girardeau, MO , he was the son of the late Cecil Roy and Melba Hensley Burnett. He received his education in the Empire, AL Public School System and had been a resident of Tippah County since 1984. Affectionately known by his grandchildren as "Pop", Albert was employed for a number of years by the Roy Elder House Moving & Foundation Repair in Ripley.
  Albert was a Christian and had a lifelong love for motorcycles, cars and trucks with a special love for anything Chevrolet. He had many friends and was known for helping others, enjoying times with his family and riding motorcycles.
  In addition to his wife of 25 years, he leaves six daughters, Tammy Craft (Corey) of Jackson, Teresia Santos (Davey) of New Albany, Sherri Walker of Blue Mountain, Christina Decanter (Jerry), Peggy Chimeo (Martin) and Terri Mullins all of Ripley, two sons, Billy Hollands (Katherine) and Albert Lee Burnett both of Ripley, four sisters, Virginia Huddleston, Charlotte Pickett, Peggy Sue Pelt and Tina Poore all of Empire, AL, five brothers, Carl Wayne Burnett of Empire, AL, Lee Burnett of Pontotoc, Lonnie Burnett, David Burnett (Sarah Jo) and Gary Burnett all of Ripley, 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three grandsons.
  Pallbearers will be members of the Whiteknuckle Riders Motorcycle Club and will provide the "bikers" motorcycle procession from the church to the cemetery.
