Archie Eugene Bowden, 61, retired sawmill operator and husband of Daisy Davis Bowden, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home Friday March 2, 2018 in Alcorn County.
Funeral Services for Mr. Bowden will be at 2 PM Monday, March 5 at Mission of Hope Church in Glenn, MS with Bro. Bobby Voyles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Born March 10, 1956 in Kossuth, he was the son of the late Herman and Edith Mitchell Bowden. Mr. Bowden received his education in the Kossuth Public School System and was employed as a sawmill operator for the James Burns Lumber Company in Alcorn County before his retirement.
A Christian, Mr. Bowden was a family oriented person who enjoyed humor, any type of vehicle repairing, country music and nature.
Mr. Bowden also leaves his children, Vickie Bowden and Dillion Bowden (Angela) of Corinth, Robin Barber (Wayne) of Jackson, TN, Archie Bowden, Jr (Linda) of Tupelo and Leon Atchley (Krystal) of Rolling Fork, MS, a sister, Susan Plunk (Scott) of Tupelo and thirteen grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Blasingame and four brothers, Franky, James, Wayne and Herbert Bowden.
