 Bobby Kyle Smith, 84, resident of the Tiplersville Community and much loved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, departed this life peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday afternoon May 12, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.
  Services honoring the life of Mr. Smith will be at 2 PM Monday May 15 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Andrew Chesteen, Pastor of Tiplersville Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Tiplersville Cemetery.
  Born November 6, 1932 in Tiplersville, he was the son of the late Henry and Nina Renfro Smith. Mr. Smith was a 1951 graduate of Walnut High School and served in the United States Naval Reserve for 8 years. He was married on May 5, 1956 to the former Virginia Stewart, his beloved wife of 61 years who survives. In earlier years Mr. and Mrs. Smith resided in Memphis and returned to Tippah County to make their home in 1972. He found much pleasure in caring for his farmland and baling hay before his retirement four years ago.
  A family oriented person, Mr. Smith was a devoted member of Tiplersville Baptist Church and in earlier years served as Youth Director of the church and also enjoyed teaching Sunday School. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his passion for fishing and for sharing produce from his garden with friends and family.
  Those also left to honor his memory are his children, Jan Smith Burton (Danny) of Tiplersville and R. Larry Smith (Janet) of of Bartlett, TN , two sisters, Marjorie Gurley of Bartlett, TN and Christene Shackleford of Tiplersville, five grandchildren, Wendy Cooper (Sidney), Jock Smith (Beth), Lea Anderson (Sam), Danielle Hilliard (Randy) and James Smith and three great granddaughters, Rowyn Cooper , Shelby and Elizabeth Hilliard. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Aileen Smith and two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Smith.
  Those honored to serve as active and honorary pallbearers are, Derek and Keegan Smith, Michael Gurley, Danny Johnson, Johnny Hodum, Timmy Hopper, David Horton, Lee Fulmer, Jerry Gay and Stanley Rolfe.
  The flag at The Ripley Funeral Home entrance honors Mr. Smith and all Veterans for their service to our country. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
