Bottis Reganold "Robert" Clayton

Bottis Reganold "Robert" Clayton, well-known resident of the Walnut Community and owner of Radio Station WLRC in Walnut, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Friday afternoon October 20, 2017 at his family home. He was 87 years old and leaves a legacy that will be long remembered.
  Funeral Services honoring the well lived life of Mr. Clayton will be at 2 PM Sunday October 22 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with long time friend and pastor, Bro. Bill Wages officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the Clayton Cemetery in Benton County.
  Born November 9, 1929 in Potts Camp, Mr. Clayton was the son of the late Clarence and Janie Minor Clayton. He received his education in the Marshall County Public School System and was married November 18, 1950 to his beloved wife, the former Martha Scott "Scottie" Leach, a native of Blue Springs who survives.
  Known for his strong work ethic and intelligence, Mr. Clayton's career spanned 47 years as an Engineer Operator for the TenneCo. Gas Company before his retirement in 1997. He was a Christian and a dedicated member of Harmony Baptist Church.
  Mr. Clayton with his wife and son presently own and operate the local WLRC AM Radio Station in Walnut that serves the Walnut Community and surrounding areas providing information about local events, news, religious music and religious activities.
  An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Clayton enjoyed hunting, gardening, woodworking and was a fan of Cardinal Baseball. An active member of his community for many years, he will be remembered for his love of old western movies, politics and his favorite country singer, Don Williams. A man of his word and honest in his business, Mr. Clayton loved his Lord and his family. He worked hard all his life for them and will be missed by all those that knew him.
  Visitation will be two hours before services Sunday at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  In addition to his wife of 66 years, he leaves his sons, Robert Keith Clayton of Booneville, Richard Tracy Clayton (Betty) of Jonesboro, AR and Christopher Robin Clayton of Walnut, a sister, Violet Lessel of Ecru and his grandchildren, Todd, Michael, Caleb, Hunter, Jeramy, Jaylee and Jesse Clayton, Brandy Shields, and Corrie Riggs.
  Mr. Clayton was also preceded in death by a son, Terry David Clayton.
