Clara E. Huddleston Gattis, 103, adored resident of the Ripley Community, one of the oldest residents of Tippah County and much loved wife, mother, and "Mamo", peacefully departed this life Friday morning October 7, 2016 at Golden Living Retirement Home with family by her side.
  Funeral services honoring the wonderful life of Mrs. Gattis will be at 11 AM Monday, October 10 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Baker, a long time friend of the family, officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
  A native of Tippah County, Mrs. Gattis was born October 7, 1913, the youngest of 13 children, to the late Jeremiah and Fannie Elizabeth Jobe Huddleston. She was married on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1937 to Thomas Randolph Gattis and were blessed with 78 years of marriage before his death on July 16, 2016.
   Mr. and Mrs. Gattis resided in Memphis for over 25 years and returned to Tippah County after Mr. Gattis's retirement where she enjoyed crocheting and time with her family. She had been a resident of Benton County where she was an active member of Ashland Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Gattis received much pleasure in vegetable gardening, sharing her produce with family and friends.
  Visitation will be from 9 AM until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  She leaves 6 generations of family members to cherish her memory. This includes her children, Marie Bryan (Willie) and Betty Windham, both of Ripley and Terrell Gattis ( Rachel) of Jacksonville, AL, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great granddaughter. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gattis was preceded in death by a son, Terry Wade Paseur, son in law, Wayne Windham, 6 sisters, Ethel Janes, Emily Tapp, Evie Janes, Betty Janes, Myrtle Buchannan, Dora Brown and 3 brothers, Elbert, Arthur and Charles Huddleston.
  Those honored to serve as Pallbearers will be David Gattis, Gary Bryan, Stacey Bryan, Jerry Windham, Michael Bryan and Keith Thurmond.
