Edna Alsip beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother departed this life Sunday morning, October 16, 2016 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was 76 years of age and died following an extended illness.
   Services honoring the life of Mrs. Alsip will be at 11 AM Wednesday, October 19 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with burial in the Glenfield Memorial Park Cemetery at New Albany. A native of Abbeville, MS, Mrs. Alsip was a homemaker and Christian who devoted her entire life with love for family, friends and outdoor activities that included camping, fishing, and traveling. She attended schools at Tippah, Union and Ingomar and was a resident of the Blue Mountain Community and Ripley for much of her life before moving to Booneville six years ago.
   She was the wife of James Russell Alsip, retired employee of Blue Mountain Trucking who survives.
   A visitation will continue today from 9 AM until service time at Ripley Funeral Home.
   In addition to her husband she leaves her children, Cynthia McCluskey (James) of Dumas, Sandra Rodgers (Nelson) and Sonya Floyd (Dean) both of Blue Mountain, and James Alsip (Lyndsy) of Tiplersville; a sister, Annice Milner (Dan) of Belleville, IL; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Elaine Rogers and two grandchildren, Robert Derek Rodgers and Whitney M. Alsip.
