Harriett Eloiese (Carmichael) Walker

Harriet Eloiese Carmichael Walker, 86, long time resident of the Ripley Community and wife of the late Robert N. Walker departed this life on Saturday evening, March 11, 2017 at the Traceway Manor in Tupelo where she had been a resident for the past 4 years.
   Services honoring the life of this Christian lady will be at 3 pm Tuesday, March 14 in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Connolly, retired minister of the Ripley Presbyterian Church officiating. Private burial will follow in the Tippah Memorial Garden.
   A native of Tippah County, Mrs. Walker was born September 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Vester and Fannie Mauney Carmichael. She received her education in the Tippah County School System and completed her requirements as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1955. She was married June 24, 1956 to Robert N. Walker who died June 4, 2002. Mr. and Mrs. Walker were active members of the Ripley Community as long as health permitted. Mrs. Walker was a devoted homemaker and had a passion for growing flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed quilting and had a life long love for animals. Mr. and Mrs. Walker were active members of the Ripley Presbyterian Church and in their retirement years found pleasure in serving their church as custodians.
   Mrs. Walker is survived by her sons, Larry Walker (Cherie) of Tupelo and Paul Walker of Ripley; three granddaughters, Carley Herndon (Justin) of Saltillo, Haley Walker of Hattiesburg and Hunter Walker of Rome, GA; three great-grandchildren, Molli Beth Herndon, Walker Herndon and Liza Jane Herndon.
