Jerry Randle Mercer

Tippah County- Jerry Randle Mercer, 46, resident of the Tiplersville Community and self-employed carpenter, roofer and logger in Tippah County, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Tippah County Hospital. Funeral Services for Randle will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with burial in New Salem Cemetery at Walnut. A lifelong resident of Tippah County, Randle was a Baptist and will be remembered for his love of hunting, outdoor grilling and "tinkering" with anything that had a motor. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 23 and will continue from 12 noon until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home. Randle is the brother of Randy Mercer (Terri) of Waterford, Darlene Stewart (Jackie) and Dawn Crum (Ray) of Walnut, Leilah May Cox ( Fritz) of Hurley, Wis. and Virginia Perez (Ramone) of Rockford, IL. He is also survived by his special loving friend, Elizabeth Caldwell, his daughters, Vanessa Eaves of Falkner and Tuesday Hall of Booneville, his step-father, Ladrod Wood of Walnut, granddaughter, Tatum Alsup, 5 nephews and 4 nieces.  He was the son of the late Jerry Clifford Mercer and Frances Hopkins Wood.
