 On Saturday evening October 22, 2016, Jimmy Howard "Jim" McCoy, 65, surrounded by his loving family, departed from his earthly home in Ripley and entered into his eternal home in Heaven.
  Services honoring the life of Mr. McCoy will be at 11 AM Tuesday October 25 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro.Stacy McKee and Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The Ripley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
  Born October 21, 1951 in Baldwyn, MS, he was the son of the late Howard and Molene Heavener McCoy. In 1969, Jim moved with his family to Tippah County. He was a well known, self-employed brick mason and active for many years in the family logging business before his retirement. Jim was a member of Springdale Baptist Church and a faithful member of the men's Sunday School class. In past years he was a member of the MS National Guard stationed with the Booneville Unit. Jim will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his friends, his community and the love of animals with a special love for his dogs.
  Visitation will continue Tuesday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda Merritt McCoy, 2 daughters, Shannon Cohn (Patricio) of Oxford and LaShay Bryan (Jeff) of Ripley, a son, Lonnie Heavener (Candice) of Falkner, a sister, Lisa McCoy (Kevin Pannell) of Dumas, 2 brothers, Bill McCoy (Bonnie) and Ken McCoy of Ripley, 12 grandchildren (Mattie and Olivia Michael, Sofia and  Paz Cohn, Wes, Marlee, Eli and Troy Heavener, Brandon (Morgan), Zane and Hailee Bryan and Kayleigh Milam), a great granddaughter (Lane Bryan)  and a special niece (Ally Pannell).
  Those honored to serve as pallbearers wil be Stan Yancey, Mitchell McCoy, Bob Rainer, Michael Moffitt, Mark Morton and Hal Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be the Springdale Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class.
  The family request memorials be directed to North MS Kidney Foundation, Attn. Keith Spotts, 308 Hwy 8 W, Aberdeen, MS 39730.
