 Larry Mitchell Gossett, 59, resident of the Ripley Community and a person known as an accomplished musician and talented artist, passed away peacefully Monday morning May 8, 2017 at Diversicare Retirement Center following a brief illness.
  Services celebrating the life of Larry will be at 2 PM Saturday, May 13 at New Life Church in Ripley with Bro. Bobby Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery near Chalybeate. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Born August 18, 1957 in Aurora, IL, he was the son of Ruby Humbers Gossett and the late Arthur Gossett. Larry received his education in the Leland, IL Public School System and had been a resident of Tippah County for the past 20 years. He briefly served his country in the US Navy as long as health permitted.
  A spiritual person, Larry was a member of New Life Church where he share his musical talents that included playing the fiddle, guitar and harmonica for his church ministry and the local television station. He taught all who knew him the true meaning of love, gratitude, patience and long suffering. His smiling face will be missed by his family and all those who drew inspiration from his kind spirit.
  Those left to honor his memory are: his mother, Ruby Humbers Gossett of Ripley, a daughter, Amanda Gossett-Gaudino of Escanaba, Michigan, a sister, Dora Casner (John Albert) of Walnut, a brother, Jerry Gossett of Naplate, IL, his grandchildren, Grace and Jonathan and a great grandson, Wyatt.
