Lilbourn Dennis Johnson, resident of the Walnut Community and much loved son, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning February 14, 2017 surrounded by his family.
  Services honoring the Christian life of Dennis will be at 11 AM Friday, February 17 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church near Walnut, Bro. Kevin Lindley, his Pastor and close friend officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Born March 21, 1950 in Hernando, MS, he was the son of Fay Alsobrook Nichols and the late C.D. Johnson. Growing up on his family's dairy farm, Dennis developed a strong work ethic at an early age. He was a graduate of Olive Branch High School and was a valued employee of Southern Fabricators, Inc. in Memphis for 30 years before his retirement two years ago. He had been a resident of the Walnut Community for the past 21 years where he developed a love for his church and community. Dennis was a devoted member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church where he enjoyed serving in numerous positions of responsibility that included the Adult Sunday School Class and the Methodist Men's Club.
  Dennis will be remembered as a multi-talented person who dearly loved his family. His pleasures included church repairs, squirrel and rabbit hunting, gardening and cookouts with his family.
  Visitation will continue Friday one hour before services at the church.
  Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Jennifer Marlar of Burnsville, 2 sons, Clay Johnson (Jana) of Booneville and Michael Johnson (Teri) of Corinth, 3 sisters, Gloria Anne Morarity (Clifford) of Olive Branch, Frances Johnson, of Timber Cove, CA and Dr. Mary Ellen Johnson of East Dennis, MA, 3 nieces, Dabney Smith (Richard) of Olive Branch, Kendra Griffith (Andrew) of Chicago, IL and Kyla Griffith of Washington, DC , 7 wonderful grandchildren, Sara Johnson, Rachel Johnson, Eli Howell, Emalyn Marlar, Teleigh Bowden, Lacie Machado, and Liberty Johnson and a host of cousins and friends.
  Pallbearers will be Louis Glover, Jimmy Tate Waldon, Steve Bennett, Randy Waldon, Dewayne Bennett and Luke Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ebenezer Adult Sunday School Class.
  The family would like to express a sincere thanks to his special caregivers, Amanda Scates and April Moore.
