Our much loved wife, mother, sister and "Nana", Mary Nell Frazier Allmond, 79, resident of the Dumas Community and retired beautician, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday evening January 8, 2019 in the comfort of her home following an extended illness.
Funeral Services remembering the life of Mrs. Allmond will be at 2 PM Friday January 11 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Allan Casteel of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Prentiss County, officiating. Burial will follow in Falkner Cemetery.
Mrs. Allmond was born on October 12, 1939 in Walnut and was the daughter of the late E.R. and Mavis Brown Frazier. At an early age she moved with her family to Memphis, TN and received her education in the Memphis City School System. Mrs. Allmond continued her education in cosmetology and served as a self employed beautician for over 50 years until her retirement. On May 16, 1959 she married her devoted husband, Harold W. Allmond, formerly of Paragould, AR, who survives.
A Baptist, Mrs. Allmond was a family oriented person who enjoyed watching movies with her grandchildren and mastering her daily computer games. Sewing and crafts were favorite pasttimes.
Visitation for Mrs. Allmond will be Friday from 12 noon until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her children, Patty Cheatwood of Memphis, TN, James Allmond, Mary Sonwineski (Jimmy) and Marshia Hatcher all of Dumas, one sister, Jeanie Glissen of Falkner, two brothers, Grandville Frazier of Bellvue, WA and David Frazier (Sara) of Southaven, eight grandchildren, Danny Williams, Amanda Ticer (Jim), Nick Allmond (Katrina), Sara Allmond, Kenneth Sonwineski (Tiffany), Beth Sonwineski, Ethan Hatcher (Bethanne) and Sydney Hatcher, six great grandchildren and her loyal pug canine,"Gypsy".
