Mildred Christene (Smith) Shackleford

Christene Smith Shackleford, 76, resident of the Tiplersville Community and devoted wife , mother, sister and grandmother, passed away Sunday morning January 13, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth following an extended illness.
  Funeral Services remembering the life of Mrs. Shackleford will be at 2 PM Tuesday January 15 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Tiplersville Cemetery.
  Born September 3, 1942 in Tippah County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Kyle and Nina Renfro Smith. She was a 1960 graduate of Walnut High School and was married July 1, 1963 to her beloved husband, Joe Lindsey Shackleford, who preceded her in death on July 10, 1998.
  A lifelong resident of Tippah County and member of Tiplersville Baptist Church, Mrs. Shackleford was a homemaker throughout her life. Her love of her family was unending and she enjoyed every opportunity to be with her much loved granddaughters. Quilting, reading and cross word puzzles were favorite pasttimes. She lived a full and wonderful life that will always be cherished.
  Visitation will continue Tuesday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home
  Memories will be treasured by her daughter, Cindy Hodum (Johnny) of Corinth, one sister Marjorie Gurley of Arlington, TN, two granddaughters, Audrey McNair (Clint) and Allison Mercer (Tyler), one great granddaughter, Sarah Kate Childs, three sisters in law, Eva Lou Smith of Wylie, TX, Ginger Smith of Falkner and Glenda Smith of Tiplersville.
  She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Bobby and Jimmy Smith.
