Noer Smith Howard

  Noer Smith Howard, 97, resident of the Ripley Community and lifelong resident of Tippah County, passed away Saturday morning October 15, 2016 at the Tippah County Hospital following a brief illness.
  Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Howard will be at 2 PM Monday October 17 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
  Born June 7, 1919 in Blue Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Irene Marbrey Smith. In 1941, Mrs. Howard married Floyd Evans Howard, a retired timber cutter in Tippah and Union Counties, who died in 1992. She received her education at Blue Mountain School and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Mrs. Howard was employed by the Irwin Schwabe Company for over 20 years before her retirement. As the matriarch of her family, she was respected by all generations. She will be remembered as being a vibrant, giving, and family oriented person who will be greatly missed by all her knew her.
  Visitation will continue Monday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Beulah Walker, Floyd (Junior) Howard and Billy Joe Howard ( Jeanine), all of Ripley and Larry Joe Howard (Diane) of Potts Camp, a brother, Roy Smith of Yazoo City, 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
