Nona Brooks Davidson

Nona Brooks Davidson, 89, longtime resident of the Alcorn, Prentiss and Tippah County areas, peacefully departed this life Monday evening, Nov. 23, 2015 at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth. Services honoring the Christian life of Mrs. Davidson will be at 1 PM Saturday, Nov. 28 at Thrasher Baptist Church with visitation from 10 AM to 1 PM at the church. Burial will be in the Old Kemps Chapel Cemetery. The Ripley Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
  A person devoted to her family, church and community, Mrs. Davidson served as a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years and will be remembered as a dedicated homemaker, quilter and caterer who enjoyed preparing food for family and friends. Her specialties were fried pies and turnip greens.
  She leaves her children, Margaret Hamm (J.T.) , Perry Davidson (Lisa), Gary Davidson (Tammy) all of Rienzi and Bobby Davidson of Medina, OH, a sister, Linda Rencher of Corinth,a brother, Buddy Brooks of Blackland Community, 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert William Davidson who died in 2006, her parents, William Lee and Ethel Yates Brooks and a brother, Henry M. Brooks.
  Mrs. Davidson leaves a rich legacy of an unwavering faith in God and an abundant love for her family and friends.
