Ruth Ann "Ruth" Snipes

Rita Ann Snipes, 67, a resident of Alpine, TX and native of Tupelo, died Thursday June 25, 2015 at her residence in Alpine. Services for Ms. Snipes will be private and interment will take place at her grandparents farm and homeplace in the Mooreville Community of Lee County. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  A native of Lee County, Ms. Snipes was born February 7, 1948 and was preceded in death by her parents, W.R. Snipes and Ophea Edwards Snipes. She was a graduate of the Mooreville High School and received her B.A. Degree from The Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX where she had been a resident since 1989.
  She was a Christian and had a variety of interests that included animals, reading, playing the piano and food preparation. She had a passion for painting and sculpturing and these were her favorite pastimes.
  She leaves her sons, Samuel Clay Johnson (Shelby) and Timothy Snipes of Ripley, Perrin Snipes III, now serving in the US Military and two brothers Perrin Snipes of Nettleton and Dwight Snipes of GA.
