 Ruthy Gail Winkles Spencer, lifelong resident of Tippah County and wife of the late Clifton Eugene Spencer, passed away Saturday morning February 25, 2017 at her sister's home in Dumas. She was 60 years of age and died following a courageous battle with breast cancer.
  Services honoring the life of Gail will be at 11 AM Monday, February 27 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Casey Hughes and Dr. Jack Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Cemetery at Walnut.
  Born December 8, 1956 in Tippah County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Winkles and the late Gene and Jewell Thomas Smith. She received her education at Ripley High School and was the wife of Clifton Eugene Spencer who preceded her in death on November 14, 2009.
  An active woman all her life, she devoted herself to her family that she loved dearly. Gail will be remembered as everyone's friend. She was an avid conversationalist and was an encouragement to others.
  A Christian, Gail exhibited a great love for her family that included her nieces and nephews. She will be be remembered for her love of fishing, animals and eating her favorite candy, watermelon sour patch kids and Pickle-o's.
  Visitation will be from 8 AM until service time Monday at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Those left to cherish her memory are: her children, Christy Gaillard of Ripley and Kenny Littlejohn of Pontotoc, a sister, Peggy Herman (Michael) of Dumas, brothers, Larry Winkles (Inez) and Wilmer Winkles (Louise), both of Ripley and Jackie Smith (Shelia) of Pontotoc, 5 grandchildren, Caleb Gaillard, Matthew, Mikayla, Wyatt and Thomas Littlejohn and a great grandson, Carter Gaillard. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Hazel Eaton and Janice Reed and 2 brothers, Charles and Cecil Winkles.
