Sonya Diane Lewis Jones

Sonya Lewis-Jones, resident of New Albany, native Tippah Countain and wife of Larry Jones, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Thursday morning December 14, 2017 at her home following an extended illness.
  Funeral Services for Sonya will be t 2 PM Saturday December 16 at her beloved First Apostolic Church in Ripley with her pastor, Bro. Jeff Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Ripley Cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Born August 7, 1970 in Aurora, IL, she is the daughter of Judy Henry Sharp and Jimmy Hugh Lewis. Sonya moved with her family to Tippah County at the age of 5 and received her education in the Blue Mountain School System.
  A Christian , Sonya was a homemaker for much of her life and had been a resident of Union County for the past 3 years. A family oriented person, she will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren, shopping and listening to country music. Her passion was preparing Sunday meals for her family.
  Visitation will continue Saturday until service time at the church.
  In addition to her husband of 19 years, those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Christopher Lewis of Ripley, Blake Lewis (Lindsey Ferguson), Trevor Jones (Sarah) , Adam Jones, all of New Albany and Kevin Jones (Kaitlin) of Ft. Campbell, KY. three sisters, Tonya Rodgers (Kim) of Falkner, Tammy Bennett of Iuka and Susan Lancaster (Jimmy) of Stanton, TN, four brothers, Jamie Sharp of Blue Mountain, Jason Lewis (Wynde), Danny Lewis (Aleisha) and Eric Turnbow , all of Ripley, and her four wonderful grandchildren, Jayden, Eli, Avery and Kysen Lewis.
