Thelma Grace Graves Beavers, lifelong resident of the Ripley Community and wife of the late James "Bob" Beavers, departed this life surrounded by family members Wednesday evening September 13, 2017 at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was 77 years of age and had been a patient at the hospital for two weeks.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Beavers will be at 2 PM Saturday September 16 at Unity Baptist Church where she was a member. The officiating minister will be her brother in law, Bro. William "Bud" Reaves of New Albany. Personal Reflections will be given by her nephew, Bro. Kenneth Reaves and closing scripture and prayer will be by her pastor, Bro. Ronnie Barefield. Burial will follow in the Unity Cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
A native of Tippah County, Mrs. Beavers was born July 18, 1940, the daughter of the late Issac Lamar and Opal Stepp Graves. She received her education in the Falkner School System and was married March 15, 1958 to James "Bob" Beavers, retired Tippah County roofing contractor who died August 18, 1993.
Mrs. Beavers was a homemaker throughout her life and in earlier years was employed by the GenesCo Corporation in Ripley. She will be remembered as a patriotic person who loved vibrant colors that included red, white and blue. Mrs. Beavers took much pride in her appearance and often chose those favorite colors in her accessories. She had a love for flowers and received much pleasure participating in area yard sales.
Visitation will continue Saturday until service time at the church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Dale Beavers of New Albany and Jeff Beavers (Debra) of Ripley, three sisters, Hermie Henry and Syble Cook (Junior) both of Ripley and Jean Reaves (Bud) of New Albany, three brothers, Tommy Graves (Joan) and Jimmy Graves (Pam) both of Ripley and Issac "T" Graves of Ecru, five grandchildren, Alley Beavers, Jessica Carter, Jared and Kelly Jackson and Brittany Bryant and eight great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Graves, two brothers, Billy and Ray Graves and a brother in law, Herman Henry.
Let Grace be remembered as someone who enjoyed life, and who celebrated it. Let us celebrate too, and enjoy our lives because we were fortunate enough to have her to be a part of ours. Grace, you will be missed.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Hank Barber, Robin Holley, Terry Brady, Darrell Bridges, Russell Clemmer and Hunter Hall.

The Ripley Funeral Home is honored to serve the Beavers family and invites you to sign the guestbook and share memories.
