Sarah Emogene Ferrell Walker Obituary

On the morning of April 5, 2024, Sarah Emogene Ferrell Walker, 85, resident of Walnut, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. 

A Graveside Service honoring the Christian Life of Mrs. Walker will be at 1 PM Monday, April 8 at Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Ray Hoggard and Danny Ferrell officiating.

Mrs. Walker was born March 5, 1939, in Tippah County, the daughter of the late Skelly and Alice Yopp Ferrell. She was a graduate of Walnut High School and was married November 23, 1958, to her beloved husband, Charles Albert Walker who preceded her in death on March 11, 2000. A member of Ole Enon Church and devoted homemaker, Mrs. Walker will be remembered for her involvement in church and church activities, her love for soap operas, talking on the phone, canning vegetables, Alan Jackson music and riding 4-wheelers. She enjoyed sharing every opportunity with her granddaughter and great granddaughter and was well known for her fabulous strawberry cakes and custard pies. 

Precious memories will continue to be shared by her daughter, Cathy Medlin, one brother, Danny Ferrell (Adelle) of Clinton, KY, and her great granddaughter Brooklyn Moore (Cameron) of Walnut. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles David Walker, granddaughter, Wendy Brock, a sister and brother-in-law, Gracie and James Wolfe, son in law, David Medlin and her loyal canine companion, Lou.
