Alfred Martin Davis, Jr., 69, longtime resident of Tippah and Union County, passed away Wednesday morning October 25, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany following an extended illness.
  Funeral Services for Mr. Davis will be at 2 PM Friday November 3 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton of Ripley officiating. Burial will follow in Enterprise Cemetery in the Enterprise Community of Union County.
  Born February 29, 1948 in Ecru, he was the son of the late Alfred M. Davis, Sr and Nonie Bell Davis. Mr. Davis received his education in the Ecru Public School System and was employed in earlier years as a Security Guard in the North Mississippi area.
  Mr. Davis will be remembered for his love of fishing, watching Old Western movies on TV and listening to Old Country Gospel music. A Christian, he had a zest for life and lived everyday to the fullest. His spirit was strong and the love he had for his children and grandchildren was the healing power in each obstacle he faced. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
  Visitation for Mr. Davis will be Friday from 12 noon until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Amy Flanagan of Temple, TX, Denise Fletcher, Twyla Patrick (Daniel) and Donnie Davis, all of Illinois and three grandchildren Misty, Matthew and Mark. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Davis, a son, Michael Davis , a grandson, Robert Flanagan and three brothers.
  The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital- New Albany for the care and concern of their father.
  Pallbearers will be friends and family.
