A much loved wife, sister, aunt and friend, Beverly McClain "Beb" Barkley, 59, resident of Ripley, passed away peacefully Tuesday March 5, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Helath Center in Corinth following an extended illness.
Funeral Services remembering the life of Beb will be at 2 PM Friday March 8 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Hurt and Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Jacobs Chapel Cemetery near Ripley.
Beb was born April 4, 1959 in New Albany, MS and received her education at Ripley High School before moving to Memphis where she resided for a number of years. She returned to Tippah County in 1993 and was married April 22, 1994 to her beloved husband, Perry Lee Barkley who survives.
A Christian and homemaker throughout her life, Beb was blessed with a large loving family. She will be remembered for her love of vegetable and flower gardening, grilling favorite foods and the pleasures she received from her pet canines "Jake" & "Socks".
Visitation will continue Friday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
In addition to her husband of 25 years, Beb is survived by three sisters, Joyce Moore of Blue Mountain, Linda Alexander (Bill) of Vardaman and Pat Power of Ripley, two brothers, Joe McClain and David McClain (Donna) both of Ripley and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sue Hardin, her maternal grandparents who adopted her at an early age, Duncan and Jack McClain. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Faulkner and Shirley Reed, two brothers, Charles and Bill McClain, three brothers in law, Perry Moore, Terry and Jerry Barkley, her father and mother in law, Mansel and Lillian Barkley.
