Bobby Gene Wilkins, 77, resident of Ripley, departed this life Thursday evening April 25, 2019 at Diversicare Health & Rehabilitation Center in Ripley following an extended illness.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Wilkins will be at 2 PM Sunday April 28 in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral with Bro. Terry Hudson and Bro. Melvin Laster officiating. Burial will follow at Bains Chapel Cemetery in Benton County.
Mr. Wilkins was born December 30, 1941 in Alabama, the son of the late Felton and Eunice Burleson Wilkins. He received his education in the Alabama Public School System and leaves his beloved wife, the former Beverly Ann Box.
A member of Bains Chapel Church, Mr. Wilkins was employed with the Tennessee River Logging Company in earlier years and Dees Oil Company in Ripley until his retirement.
Mr. Wilkins will be remembered for his love of the outdoors that included fishing, and "piddling" in his yard. He leaves behind many memories to be cherished by his family and they find comfort in knowing they will meet again.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12 Noon until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
In addition to his wife of 23 years, survivors include his children, Bobby Wilkins, Jr. (Starla) of Cullman, AL, Tery Wilkins of Franklin, TN, Jeff Medlin (Shelly) of Ripley, Scott Medlin (Belinda) of New Albany and Robin Vanzant (Stan) of Hickory Flat, two sisters, Freda George of Cullman, AL and Carol Ivey of Atlanta, GA, ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
