Brenda Rummage Vick, 75, resident of the Mitchell Community near Ripley and beloved mother, sister and 'Nanny", passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Monday October 29, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Vick will be at 2 PM Thursday November 1 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in New York Cemetery near Ripley.
Born April 20, 1945 in Tishomingo County, she was the daughter of the late L.A. and Ida Mae Estes Rummage. After graduating from the Prentiss County School System, Mrs. Vick continued her education at Northeast Mississippi Community College where she received her Associates Degree.
She was the wife of the late Jimmy Vick, a retired Tippah County 5th District employee who preceded her in death on April 5, 2007. A member of the Church of Christ, Mrs. Vick was employed for over 30 years by the Blue Bell Manufacturing Company before her retirement in 1994.
Affectionately known as "Nanny", Mrs. Vick was devoted to her family and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic and enjoyed writing poetry, reading and solving crossword puzzles.
Visitation for Mrs. Vick will be Thursday at The Ripley Funeral Home from 12 noon to 2 PM.
Her memory will be cherished by her five sons, David, Ricky, Jeffry and Michael Lambert all of Booneville and Kevin Vick of Ripley, one sister, Ida Lou Tennison of Booneville, fifteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
