Daphine Martindale Pulse Beaty, 78, resident of the Dumas Community and former resident of Walnut, passed away Sunday evening December 31, 2017 at her residence in Dumas following an extended illness.
  Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Beaty will be at 1 PM Wednesday January 3 at her beloved Oakland Baptist Church near Walnut where she wa a long time member. Bro. Merl Dixon will officiate assisted by Bro. Don Wilson. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Born December 6, 1939 in the Brownfield Community, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosie Moore Martindale. Mrs. Beaty received her education in the Walnut Public School System and was employed at the Genesco Corporation for over 20 years and later retired from the Kirkwood Corporation .
  She was first married to Mack Charles Pulse who died in 2003 and was later married to Marshall Beaty who survives.
  Those who knew and loved Daphine will remember her as a "take charge person" and very plain spoken. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed shopping, flowers and vegetable gardening as long as health permitted.
  A visitation was held Tuesday evening at The Ripley Funeral Home and will continueWednesday from 11 AM until service time at Oakland Baptist Church.
  Those left to cherish her memory also include, two children, Paula Hustedt (Jon) of St. Louis, MO and Charlie Mack Pulse (Suzanne) of Southaven, her brother, Clifton Martindale of Walnut, her stepchildren, Lori Mims (Lacy), Brad Beaty, Marty Hopkins and Terry Hopkins (Lisa) all of Dumas, Mae Martinez (Candido) of Ripley and Thomas Beaty of Odessa, TX, eighteen grandchildren, Charlotte Humphrey (John), Kelly Griggs, Alyssa and Blake Hustedt,Kristian Mullins (Christopher), Montana Brown, Brayden and Beau Mims, CJ, Jaxon, Tyler, Thomas and Daniel Beaty, Janice Ginn, Beth Bryant, Eden Sonwineski (Lee) Matthew and Cody Hopkins and four great grandchildren.
  Daphine was also preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Maher and Betty Nell Jones.
