Dixie Joyce Elam Obituary

Dixie Joyce Elam, 81, resident of Livonia, Michigan and former resident of Tippah County, passed away on Saturday March 23, 2019 following an extended illness.
  A visitation will be held in Dixie's honor at the Ripley Funeral Home on Saturday April 27, 2019 from 11:00 am-12:00 Noon. Burial will be at the Nance Graveyard near Ripley.
  The recent widow of the late James Erwin Elam, Dixie was the daughter of the late William & Mettie Yates of Ripley, Mississippi and sister to the late Oma and Bonnie.
  Before retiring, Dixie served as the Christian Education Youth Director at Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church in Livonia Michigan.
  She always had a special Love for children, as well as hosting family gatherings, where she enjoyed telling stories from her past. Many of her vacations were in her hometown of Ripley, visiting with family and friends.
  She is survived by two children, Robert Elam(Dawn) and Laura Wobig (Roger), both of Michigan and was a loving grandmother to Ashley, Marissa, & Brittany.
