Donald Ray Hall, 71, resident of Ripley, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday February 28, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth following a brief illness.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Hall will be at 1 PM Monday March 4 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Dr. Patrick Chapman officiating. Personal Reflections will be given by family friend, Roy Mullins. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Tippah County.
Mr. Hall was born April 22, 1947 in Ripley and was the son of the late Clinton and Ruby James Hall. He was a 1967 graduate of Pine Grove High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He continued his education at North Mississippi Community College and proudly served his country in the Mississippi National Guard for 18 years.
A Christian and lifelong resident of Tippah County, Mr. Hall was employed as a Highway Inspector for the Mississippi Department of Transportation until his retirement.
Mr. Hall will be remembered as an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching professional wrestling on television and riding horses. A family oriented person, one of his greatest joys was sharing special times with his only grandchild, Drew.
Visitation will continue Monday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Janie Hall Moore (Scott) of Pontotoc, two sons, Chris Hall of Ripley and Jon Hall (Sarah) of Falkner, one grandson, Drew Cunningham of Pontotoc, 1st cousins, Peggy Holliday, Charlotte McCall and a sister in law, Kay Jackson Hall.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Hall.
