Dorothy Glidewell Null, lifelong resident of Tippah County, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon April 22, 2019 surrounded by family at Cornerstone Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corinth. She was 81 years of age and died following an extended illness.
At Ms. Null's request, there will be a private family funeral service on Wednesday April 24 with Bro. Stanley Huddleston and Bro. Bill Baker officiating. Burial will be in Tippah Memorial Gardens. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Ms. Null was born February 10, 1938 in Tippah County, the youngest of 12 children born to the late Daniel and Ella Hodum Glidewell. She was a graduate of Falkner High School and was a valued employee of Tippah County Hospital before her retirement.
A member of Falkner Baptist Church, Ms. Null will be remembered for her love of history, historic events and tours of Shiloh National Military Park in Tennessee.
She enjoyed dining out with family at her favorite restaurants that included , Early's Cafe and Shoney's. She received much joy in reading, board games and squirrel hunting with her grandson.
Memories will be cherished by one son, Robbie Null (Candi) of Pleasant Ridge, two sisters, Alice Walters of Corinth and Viola Yancey of Ripley, four grandchildren, Dustin Null (Jayce), Haley Hopkins (Coty), Nathan and Tyler Null, five great grandchildren, a special nephew, Steve Glidewell and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one sister and eight brothers.
The family request that memorials be directed to Shiloh Cemetery Fund, c/o Margaret Hodum, 71 CR 254, Walnut, MS 38683.
