Floyd E. Miller, 90, resident of the Peoples Community, retired locksmith and WWII U.S. Army Veteran, passed away Wednesday January 3, 2017 at The Tippah County Hospital in Ripley.
  Funeral Services, with Military Honors for Mr. Miller will be at 3 PM Sunday January 7 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Ray Vuncannon officiating. Burial will follow at Tippah Memorial Gardens in Ripley.
  Born September 5, 1927 in Delaware, Mr. Miller was the son of the late A.B. and Elsie Mace Miller. He received his education in Dover, Delaware and was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country in Germany during the WW II Period. Mr. Miller was married October 29, 1948 to his beloved wife of 61 years, Joan Johnson Miller who survives.
  Former residents of Aurora, IL, Mr. & Mrs. Miller had resided in Tippah County since 1980. Before his retirement he owned the Miller's Locksmith Shop in downtown Ripley where friend and customers gathered to share all of the "local news". A Christian, he was a talented person with many interests that included woodworking and carpentry. He enjoyed being a part of a small community and found pleasure growing blueberries, strawberries and grapes in his garden.
  Visitation will be from 1 PM to 3 PM Sunday at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sandy Ingraham (Bill) of Newark, IL, Linda Swinford (Jimmy) of Ripley, seven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
  Mr. Miller was also preceded in death by two brothers.
