Our much loved mother, sister, Nana and friend, Glenna Woods White, 75, resident of the Tiplersville Community, departed this life Monday evening February 11, 2019 of natural causes at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
A Celebration of Life Service for Ms. White will be at 2 PM Friday February 15 at The HeartSong Church in Ripley with Pastor Robert Lovett officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM to 2 PM today at the church. Interment will be private and arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Ms. White was born on July 10, 1943 in Memphis, TN and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Wells Woods. She was a 1961 graduate of Messick High School in Memphis and continued her education at Northeast Mississippi Community College.
In 1975 Ms. White moved to Tippah County with her family and served as an administrative assistant for the Hunter Fan Corporation in Memphis for over 25 years before her retirement.
A member of The HeartSong Church and active in the Tippah County Good Samaritan Center, Ms. White devoted herself to her family, her community and to her church. Her unselfish nature and giving heart were a true testament to those who knew and loved her.
A country girl at heart, she will be remembered for her lifelong love of horses and the rural way of life. Her smile will always be etched in her family and friends forever.
Her memories will be cherished by her children, Beth White Disorbo of Apopka, FL, Scott White (Gloria) of Ripley and Eddie White (Sylvia) of Dyersburg, TN, one brother, William Purser (Carol) of Memphis, eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Erin, Tony, Lindsey, Joshua, Jacob, Kristen and Sara, eight great grandchildren and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Edgar L. White, Sr.
