Faye Ellis Woods, 86, lifelong resident of the Walnut Community, passed away Saturday morning September 22, 2018 at Diversicare Health and Rehabilitation in Ripley following an extended illness.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Woods will be at 2 PM Tuesday, September, 25 in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Cisowski, officiating. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery near Walnut.
Born as a twin on December 2, 1931 in Tippah County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Lila Mae Perkins Ellis.
Mrs. Woods received her education in the Work-A-Way Public School System near Tiplersville and with her husband operated the Woods Grocery near Walnut before their retirement.
Visitation for Mrs. Woods will be Tuesday from 1 PM to 2 PM at the Ripley Funeral Home.
A Christian who enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening she leaves her nephew and caregiver, Gary Cardwell of Walnut, a brother, Hassell D. Ellis of Middleton, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.
