James Larry Webb, 67, resident of Ashland, completed his earthly journey Tuesday morning June 11, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County following an extended illness.
Funeral Services honoring the Christian life of Mr. Webb will be at 3 Pm Saturday June 15 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. John Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery near Ashland.
Mr. Webb was born July 23, 1951 in Benton County, the son of Bessie Cox Webb of Ashland and the late James Curtis Webb. He was a graduate of Kingsbury High School in Memphis and on July 3, 1971 married his beloved wife of 47 years, Norma Christine Thornton Webb who survives. Mr. Webb was a valued shipping supervisor for the Sears Corporation in Memphis for 39 years before his retirement.
A devout Christian, Mr. Webb was a faithful member of Hamilton Baptist Church in Benton County where he served as a Deacon. He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing.
During his life, Mr. Webb acquired many good friends and his generosity touched countless other people over the years. He leaves behind many memories to be cherished by his family and friends who will find comfort knowing that they will see each other again.
Visitation will continueSaturday from 1 PM until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
His memories will also be treasured by his children, Rita Buggs (Jasper) and Rodney Webb (Nalisha), both of Walnut, two sisters, Brenda Dickey (James) of North Little Rock, AR and Barbara Lawson of Byhalia, MS, one brother, Steve Webb (Janice) of Atoka, TN and five grandchildren, Ryan, Chelsea and Noah Johnson, Matthew and Jacob Webb.
