Janie Hisaw Lockhart, 69, resident of the Falkner Community and beloved wife of Sonny Lockhart, passed away peacefully Sunday December 16, 2018 at The Methodist Hospital in Germantown, TN following an extended illness.
Funeral Services remembering the life of Mrs. Lockhart will be at 11 AM Wednesday December 19 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Isbell officiating. Burial will follow in Falkner Cemetery.
Mrs. Lockhart was born June 27, 1949 in Blue Mountain and was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Effie Mae Burks Hisaw. She was a 1967 graduate of Memphis Technical High School and was a resident of Memphis before moving to Tippah County a number of years ago.
Mrs. Lockhart attended Falkner Baptist Church and was employed by Echo Water Corporation in Tippah County before retiring to become a caregiver for her mother in law. Her greatest pride was her family and her much loved grandchildren. A collector of turtle memorabilia and world globes, Mrs. Lockhart's other pleasures included playing th piano and caring for her much loved pet schaneuzer before their death.
Visitation for Mrs. Lockhart will continue Wednesday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
In addition to her husband of 14 years, she leaves her son, Chad Ross (Amy) of Pensacola, FL, three daughters, Kerri Murphy (Allen) and Karen Walden (Greg), both of Falkner, Kristen Wiginton (Clay) of Huntsville, AL, one sister, Louise Miller of Ripley, seven grandchildren, Mitch Ross, Wesley and Lacy Murphy, Jarrett and Janna Walden, Tyler and Connor Wiginton, a sister in Law , Joyce Payne (Fred) of Plantersville, MS and a brother in law Larry Kirk of Nashville, TN.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Kirk and a brother in law, Charles Miller.
