John Donald "J.D." Holliday, Jr

John Donald "J.D." Holliday, Jr. , 32 resident of Ripley and lifetime Tippah Countian, passed away Monday morning August 27, 2018 at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley following a brief illness.
  A Service of Remembrance for J.D. will be at 2 PM Friday August 31 at Grace Bible Church near Ripley. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Born January 2, 1986 in Union County, he is the son of John Donald "Donnie" and Denise Jenkins Holliday of Ripley and the late Robin Crouch. J.D. received his education at Pine Grove High School and was employed by U.S. Lawns in New Albany. On February 12, 2016 he married his beloved wife, the former Courtney Decanter of Ripley, who survives.
  A Christian, J.D. loved his family, had a generous spirit and caring heart. His biggest pleasure in life was helping others. Known for being the "class clown", he will be remembered for his fun wit, easy nature, infectious smile and his famous baked beans. J.D. was a beloved son, grandson, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend whose presence will be missed every day.
  Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 PM to 2 PM Friday at Grace Bible Church.
  Those also left to treasure J.D.'s memory include his children, Lacie Doss and Braydn Holliday, both of Ripley, one sister, Shana Holliday of Ripley, one brother, Holis Meeks of Southaven, his grandfather, Don Holliday, his grandmother, Paula Branham Holliday, niece and nephew, Haiden Rakestraw and Maddox Reno, all of Ripley and his special friend who was like a brother, Jerry James of Ripley.
