John Grady Douglass

John Grady Douglass, 69, resident of Marshall County and beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend, passed away Thursday August 16, 2018 at his residence in Potts Camp following a brief illness.
  A Service of Remembrance and interment will be private. Arrangements will be provided by New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care (662-539-7000).
  Born March 17, 1949 in Jackson, TN, he was the son of the late John Clark and Rita Avanzi Douglass. John was a 1967 graduate of Oakhaven High School in Memphis and continued his education at El Paso Community College in Texas. He was employed as a contract automation engineer and assisted numerous corporations in the United States and China with automation setup and automation modernization that included, Kilgore Flares, Electrolux Corporation, A.O. Smith, Nissan, Ford and Chrysler.
  A Christian, John will be remembered as an avid reader throughout his life and a keen golfer in earlier years. He was a person with exceptional knowledge and ability who made many friends over the course of his life. His love was his family and he will remain in their hearts always.
  Those left to honor his memory include a daughter, Jeana Young of New Albany, two sons, Jerred Douglass of Elkhorn, KY and Justin Gillit of Tupelo, two sisters, Nancy Reeve of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Pamela Douglass of Fuquay Varina, NC, nine grandchildren, Caleb, Lidia, Starlyn, Morgan, Autumn, Rhiley, Kellie, Wyatt and Lincoln, one great grandaughter, the mother of his children, Cynthia Day and his loyal pet canine, "Lucy".
