John Wayne Canerdy

John Wayne Canerdy, resident of the Carolina Community in Itawamba County with family members in Tippah and Union County areas, passed away Tuesday morning January 16, 2018 . He was 57 years of age and died at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo following an extended illness.
  Private Family services are planned. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Born January 27, 1960 in New Albany, John was the son of the late Leroy and Ruby Hardin Canerdy. He received his education in the West Union School System and earned a Vocational Degree in Plumbing. John was employed in the furniture industry for much of his life and was married on January 5, 1990 to his beloved wife, the former Terry Gilmore who survives.
  John will be remembered for his love of television that included watching westerns, Star-Trek, Dr. Who and wrestling. Fishing, hunting and target shooting were outdoor activities that he enjoyed. He will be greatly missed by his his family, friends and all who knew him.
  In addition to his wife, John leaves his son, Bret Canerdy (Destiney) of Terrell, TX, two sisters, Dollie Whiteside of Ripley and Virginia Beardsley of Pinedale.
  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Hardin.
