Laurie Green Caviness, 56, resident of the Walnut Community and beloved wife of the late Joe David Caviness, departed this life on Friday May 5, 2017 following an extended illness.
Services celebrating the life of Laurie will be at 2 PM Tuesday May 9 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Dr. Micah Carter and Bro. Rick Cisowski officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery near Walnut.
Born August 29, 1960 in Memphis, TN, she was the daughter of Shirley Green and the late James Green. A lifelong resident of Tippah County, Laurie was a 1978 graduate of Walnut High School. She was married on June 30, 1995 to Joe David Caviness who preceded her in death on May 13, 2016. Laurie considered her primary occupation throughout life as a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
Laurie will be remembered for her fun wit, infectious laugh, genuine smile and caring heart. Laurie's faith in God, loving friends and family, and her hobbies that included crocheting and collecting Native American Art, filled her life with joy. We ask the Lord to comfort our hearts and give us strength to carry on inspired and comforted by Laurie's presence in our lives. We will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2 PM Tuesday at The Ripley Funeral Home.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her mother, Shirley Green of Walnut, her children, Josh Waldrop (Mandy) of Ripley, Ethan Waldrop (Beth) of Walnut, Ricky Joe Caviness and Kim Earnest of New Albany, 3 sisters, Barbara Long (Keith) of Walnut, Belinda Wagoner (Joe) of Selmer, TN and Jamie Hill (Brad) of Ripley, 9 grandchildren, Daisy, J.J., Brently, Bethany and Lexi Waldrop, Hannah, Jonathan and Jacob Earnest and Ashley Godsey (Matthew), special family, Marty and Lesa Jones, Bob and Amy Windham and her furbabies, "Sugar Bear" and "Cheyenne".
WHEN TOMORROW BEGINS WITHOUT ME, DON'T EVER THINK WE ARE FAR APART, FOR EVERY TIME YOU THINK OF ME...I WILL BE RIGHT HER
