A joyful and well lived life of 96 years has ended. Leland Ray Ralph, lifelong resident of the Ripley Community and beloved husband of the late Virginia Newby Ralph, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening March 24, 2019 at the Tippah County Hospital in Ripley following an extended illness.
Funeral Services remembering the life of Mr. Ralph will be at 1 PM Wednesday March 27 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Minister Mark Lindley officiating. Burial will follow in Tippah Memorial Gardens at Ripley.
Mr. Ralph was born on November 28, 1922 in Ripley, the son of the late Tom and Dottie Jones Ralph. He received his education in the Tippah County School System and was employed by the Bilt-Rite Corporation for a number of years before his retirement.
A Christian and avid outdoorsman, Mr. Ralph's strong work ethic gained the respect of many. His love for farming and working the land began at an early age and continued as long as his health permitted. He truly enjoyed overseeing his garden, producing great home-grown vegetables and sharing his produce with family and friends.
Mr. Ralph will be remembered as small in stature but big in heart. He set a wonderful example for his family as a loving and hardworking man. All who knew him look back fondly of a life well lived.
Visitation will continue Wednesday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Lola Pannell , a grandson, Vince Adair , his son in law, Wayne Adair, all of Ripley and a host of nieces, nephews and family.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lee Adair and a brother in law, Malone Pannell.
