On Thursday evening December 27, 2018, Linda Cartwright "Maw-Maw Linda" Witt, 76, lifelong resident of Ripley and well known child daycare operator, departed this life at The Tippah County Hospital following an extended illness.
  Funeral Services honoring the life of Ms. Witt will be at the graveside in Tippah Memorial Gardens at 2 PM Saturday December 29. Long time friend Bro. Bill Baker will officiate. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Ms. Witt was born October 20, 1942 in Tippah County, the youngest child of the late Luther and Fannie Bell Smith Cartwright . She was a 1962 graduate of Ripley High School and in earlier years operated Cartwright Slaughter House and Linda's Flower Shop in Ripley before operating Witt's Daycare for 25 years.
  A member of Christ Methodist Church in Ripley, Ms. Witt will be remembered for her love of knitting, jewelry and coloring.
  A visitation for family and friends will be today at The Ripley Funeral Home from 12 noon until 1:45 PM.
  Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kerri Witt Wilburn and Marty Witt both of Ripley, three grandchildren, Jake Childers, Shelby Witt and Logan Wilburn, two great grandchildren, Jettie and Ollie Childers and a host of nieces and nephews.
  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Russell and Shelby Cartwright, two brothers Bobby Cartwright and Jimmy Cartwright.
  Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be "Maw-Maw Linda's" much loved daycare children who are now adults and continue to honor her life.
  "A HUNDRED YEARS FROM NOW, IT WON'T MATTER WHAT MY BANK ACCOUNT WAS, THE SORT OF HOUSE I LIVED IN OR THE KIND OF CAR I DROVE...BUT THE WORLD MAY BE A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE I MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD"
