Mary Frances "Fran" Harrell, 86, resident of the Ashland Community and beloved wife of the late T.K. Harrell, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening August 8, 2018 at the Alliance Healthcare in Holly Springs.
Funeral Services cherishing the life of Mrs. Harrell will be at 2 PM Wednesday August 15 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton of Ripley officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery in Benton County.
Born April 3, 1932 on the Ames Plantation in Grand Junction, TN, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Kate Wheeler Sutton. Mrs. Harrell was a 1950 graduate of Whitehaven High School in Memphis and was married in 1994 to Thomas K. "T.K." Harrell who died December 2, 2016. Mr. Harrell was a proud United States Army Verteran and retired employee of AT&T Corporation.
A member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Mrs. Harrell was also employed as a switchboard operator in Memphis for AT&T Corporation and The Baptist Memorial Hospital before her retirement in 1997.
Mr. and Mrs. Harrell retired to the Ashland Community over 20 years ago and enjoyed the peace and quiet of a small community. She will be remembered as a country girl at heart who enjoyed dancing and music in earlier years. Traveling was her passion as long as health permitted.
Visitation will be Wednesd0ay from 12 Noon to 2 PM at The Ripley Funeral Home.
Those left to treasure her memory include two daughters, Stephanie Hill (Dennis) of Houston, TX, Hilary Brooks of Walnut, three step-children, Peggy Seagraves of Oakland, TN, Susan Chipman of Memphis and Thomas Harrell (Sharon) of Somerville, TN, one sister, Betty Lou Hurdle of Little Rock, AR, five grandchildren, Conan Robbins (Marion), Alexa J. Smith (Bryan), Rachel Hill, Ryan HIll (Kenda) and Megan Hill (Chad) and five great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Cassidy and one brother, Arnold Hulme.
