Melba Rutledge Luna

Melba Rutledge Luna, resident of the Ripley Community and retired Beautician, passed away peacefully Sunday December 3, 2017 at the Tippah County Hospital in the comforting presence of her daughter. She was 75 years old and died following an illness of several months.
  Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Luna will be at 2 PM Tuesday December 5 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton of Ripley officiating. Burial will follow in Tippah Memorial Gardens at Ripley.
  Born in Benton County on July 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George Lester and Nora Wilbanks Rutledge. Mrs. Luna was a graduate of Walnut High School and married James Allen Luna, retired employee of Tippah County Hospital, who preceded her in death on September 7, 2010.
  A Christian and Beautician in Tippah County for over 34 years, Mrs. Luna was a resident of the Three Forks Community before moving to Ripley a number of years ago. A loving mother and a devoted wife, she enjoyed music and playing the piano.
  Mrs. Luna will be remembered for her love of crafts and flowers that included roses and hydrangeas. She received much pleasure in her rescue pet canine, Buddy. Her concern for others was demonstrated by her acts of kindness by helping those less fortunate.
  Visitation for Mrs. Luna will be from 7 AM until service time Tuesday at The Ripley Funeral Home,
  Her daughter, Tracey Luna of Ripley is left to cherish her memory. Mrs. Luna was also preceded in death by her brother and sister in law, Joe Wayne and Lynn Rutledge.
