Michael Wayne Orman, 56, resident of Benton County and much loved brother, cousin and friend, died Monday evening August 6, 2018 as the result of a one vehicle accident that occurred on Hwy 5 near Ashland.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mike will be at 2 PM Friday August 10 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with long time family friend, Bro. Doc Shelton of Ripley officiating. Burial will follow in Orman Cemetery near Ashland.
Mike was born November 17, 1961 in Benton County and was the son of the late Tommy Wayne and Melba Burns Orman. At an early age he moved to Jackson, MS and was a graduate of Sunnybrook High School. Mike returned to his native Benton County and was well known as a self employed auto mechanic for much of his life.
A Christian, Mike was a proud country boy who loved the rural way of life and enjoyed the outdoors that included fishing. He will be remembered by many for his passion of old cars & trucks that "he bought and kept"with models ranging from 1948 and up.
He was full of kindness, a free spirited firecracker and a loyal friend. Family and friends will cherish his loving smile, contagious laugh and his love of life.
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour before services Friday at The Ripley Funeral Home.
Those left to honor his memory include a sister, Cathy Orman of Atlanta, GA, a numerous amount of cousins in Benton County and North Mississippi , his loyal canine, "Whiskey" and many friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Donnie Lynn Orman and a brother, Tony Orman.
