Mickey Dale Wheeler Obituary

  Mickey Dale Wheeler, 60, resident of the Pine Grove Community, beloved husband of Sandra Pannell Wheeler and U.S. Army Veteran, passed away peacefully Friday morning July 13, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo following an extended illness.
  Funeral Services, with Military Honors, will be Sunday July 15 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral with his dear friend, Bro. Chris Shinall officiating. Private Interment is planned.
  Born January 23, 1958 in Waukegan, IL, Mickey is the son of Rachel Franks Daniel (Buster) of Booneville and the late Kenneth Wheeler. In earlier years he received his education in the Waukegan School System and moved with his family to Booneville where he attended Booneville High School. Mickey continued his education at Northeast Mississippi Community College and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was married August 28, 1992 to Sandra Pannell Wheeler, Nurse Practioner at Nurse-Med & Company in Ripley, who survives.
  Mickey and his family moved to the Pine Grove Community in 1992 where he was a self employed auto body painter for a number of years. He had also been employed in recent years with Mayo Construction in New Albany before his illness.
  He will be remembered for his love of baseball, especially the Pine Grove Panthers where he volunteered his time. He could often be found at the local gathering place, "Gump's Shop" where he enjoyed talking and visiting with friends. Mickey adored his granddaughter, Chevy Lee and took much pride in caring for his beautiful horses.
  Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday from 12 noon until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Mickey is also survived by three daughters, Jodi Wheeler of Belden, Amy Wheeler of Pine Grove and Casey McGee of Ripley, two sons, Ross Wheeler, who is serving his county in Kuwait as a National Guardsman and Bobby McGee (Carly) of Blue Springs, four sisters, Pam Parker, Melinda Hinson, Alice Garrett, Charlette Tennison (JR) and nine grandchildren.
  He was also preceded in death by a son, Sean Michael Wheeler-Cox, two brothers, Kenny Wheeler and Kenny "Snatch" Whitley, his maternal grandparents, Charlie Carl and Dora Ethel Franks and his paternal grandparents, Norman H. and Edna S. Wheeler.
  The flag at The Ripley Funeral Home entrance honors Mickey and all Veteran for their service to our country...GOD BLESS AMERICA.
