Opal Fay Rogers Chapman

 Opal Rogers Chapman, 93, resident of the Ripley Community and beloved wife of the late Henry Waldrop Chapman who preceded her in death on January 8, 2017, passed away Sunday January 7, 2018 at Resthaven Heatlth & Rehabilitation Center in Ripley following an extended illness.
  Private Graveside Services are planned in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Falkner with Bro. Doc Shelton of Ripley officiating. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  A lifelong Tippah Countian, Mrs. Chapman was born August 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Kirgie "Kirk" and Lillie Mae Smith Rogers. She received her education in the Tippah County School System and in earlier years was employed as a seamstress by the Blue Bell Corporation.
  A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Mrs. Chapman will be remembered for her love of the outdoors that included gardening and attending yard sales.
  Mrs. Chapman is survived by a daughter, Graple Hill of Blue Mountain. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Elmer Jeans and two brothers, George and Clyde Rogers.
  A special thank you to the staff of Resthaven Health & Rehabilitation Center for the care and concern given to Mrs. Chapman during her lengthy illness.
