Preston "Gene" Stroupe

Preston "Gene" Stroupe, 84, lifelong resident of the Ripley Community, United States Army Veteran and well known cattleman for many years, passed away October 21, 2018 at the Dogwood Living Center in Corinth following an illness of several months.
  Funeral Services, with Military Honors, remembering the life of Mr. Stroupe will be at 2 PM Wednesday October 24 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Marsh of Corinth officiating. Personal Reflctions will be given by family members, Clint Stroupe and Anne Stroupe. Burial will follow in Chapman Cemetery near Ripley.
  Born September 9, 1934 in Tippah County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Ephraim Stroupe, Sr. and Nora Mae Dees Stroupe. He received his education in the Pine Grove School System and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict period.
  A Christian and a "dapper" man of few words, Mr. Stroupe will be remembered for his strong work ethic. He was a quiet , honest, "to the point" individual who enjoyed the outdoors, children and gatherings with his family. Livestock was his passion throughout his life. Mr. Stroupe was also employed in earlier years by LaSalle Mobile Homes and Benchcraft Corporation.
  Visitation will continue for Mr. Stroupe Wednesday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Those left to honor his memory include his son, Eddie Gene Stroupe (Anne) of Ripley, one sister, Jeanice Thomas of Ripley, one brother, Billy Stroupe (Pam) of Rienzi, two grandsons, Dr. Cody Gene Stroupe of Corinth and Tyler Martin Stroupe (Lessie) of Ripley and a special frined, Anita Elrod of Ripley.
  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Benefield and Jeanette Bullock, four brothers, Lawrence E. Stroupe, Jr., Roy Faye , Aubrey "Guy" and Reaford Stroupe.
  The family request that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association-Mississippi Chapter, 207 West Jackson St. Ste.#1, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
  The American flag at The Ripley Funeral Home entrance honors Mr. Stroupe and all Veterans for their service to our country...GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
