Shelia Cissom Stites Obituary

On Tuesday morning, May 14, 2019, our beloved daughter, mother, sister "Maw-Maw Shelia" and friend, Shelia Cissom Stites, 65, resident of the Chapman Community, departed this life with her sons by her side at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth following an extended illness.
Funeral Services remembering the beautiful life of Shelia will be at 1 PM Thursday May 16 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with long time family friend, Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapman Cemetery near Ripley.
Shelia was born August 9, 1953 in Ripley, the daughter of Modene Pannell Cissom of Ripley and the late RV Cissom. A 1971 graduate of Pine Grove High School, she maintained a strong work ethic and was employed in the manufacturing industry that included Red Kap, Piper Impact and TCI Automotive before her retirement.
A Christian, those who knew Shelia will forever cherish her sweet spirit, contagious smile and her soft spoken mannerisms. Devoted to her family, she found joy in working in her yard, crafts and traveling. Before her health declined, Shelia enjoyed traveling with her son, Steve and his family on numerous vacations that included visiting over 20 states. She treasured these memories and photos made on these pleasant trips and leaves behind a legacy of love and great memories for her family and friends.
Visitation will continue Thursday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
In addition to her mother, memories will be cherished by her sons, Steve Stites (Shonda) of Walnut and Scotty Stites (Sharon) of Ripley, four sisters, Vicky Grisham, Tina Cissom and Johnnie Robinson (Rodney) all of Ripley and Kim James (Tim) of Walnut, two brothers, Ricky Cissom (Dianne) of Ripley and Steve Cissom (Marlene) of Walnut, three grandchildren, Caden, Dylan and Sara Stites and a host of family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by John C. "Pa John" Cissom, who she called "daddy" and a brother, Stacy Cissom.
