On Wednesday evening May 1, 2019, Stella Pannell Lowry, 75, resident of Ripley and beloved wife of the late Michael Lowry, passed away peacefully at the Tippah County Health & Rehabilitation Center in Ripley following an extended illness.
Funeral Services cherishing the life of Ms. Lowry will be at 2 PM Friday May 3 at Mt. View Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Hurt officiating. Burial will follow in Tippah Memorial Gardens in Ripley. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Ms. Lowry was born August 16, 1943, one of thirteen children born to the lat Edd and Gertrude Turner Pannell. She received her education in the Pine Grove Public School System and was employed as a Police Officer with the City of Ripley for a number of years before her retirement.
A Christian and lifelong resident of Tippah County, Ms. Lowry was devoted to her large family and her community. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, "Nana" and friend. Favorite pasttimes included playing cards, fishing and crocheting.
Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon until service time at the church.
Her memories will be treasured by her children, Dean Lowry (Angie), Robert Lowry (Candace) and Megan Shelton (Alex), all of Ripley, one sister, Mevoline Tennison of Booneville, two brothers, Johnny Pannell of the Dry Creek Community and Terry Pannell of Ripley, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by four sisters, Bobbie Clark, Zena Mae Ketchum, Debbie Pannell, Christine Gates and five brothers, James "Bud", Junior, Jody, Jessie and Jerry Pannell.
