  On Sunday evening May 5, 2019, Walter Wille "Bud" Newman, 79, resident of Blue Mountain, departed this life at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth following a brief illness.
  Funeral Services honoring the life of Bud will be at 2 Pm Thursday May 9 at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Benton County. Bro. Jason Howell will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Bud was born February 27, 1940 in Covington, TN , the son of the late Walter Martin and Billie Alice Adams Newman. He received his education in the Brighton, TN Public School System and was married October 26, 1956 to his devoted wife, Betty Ann Cornelius Newman, who survives.
  A native of Memphis, Bud moved with his family to Marshall County in 1971 and relocated to the Blue Mountain area 7 years ago to be near his children. He was employed in the plumbing industry for much of his life before retiring 9 years ago.
  A member of Flat Rock Baptist Church, Bud will be remembered for the love of his large family and his horses. Known as a "Jack of all trades" he enjoyed piddling with lawn mowers and cars. Bud leaves behind a legacy of memories for his family and friends until they meet again.
  Visitation will continue Thursday from 9 AM until service time at the church.
  In addition to his wife of 63 years, survivors include three daughters, Delores Rothe of Maynard, AR, Terry Westmoreland (Carlton) and Wanda Newman, both of Blue Mountain, five sons, Buddy Wayne Newman of
  Appleton, MN, David Newman of Pocahontas, AR, Jerry Newman of Holly Springs, Patrick Newman and Timothy Newman, both of Blue Mountain, three sisters, Judy Palmertree of Holly Springs, Joyce Skelton of Potts Camp and Debbie Armstrong of Ripley, TN, one uncle, James Murphy of Covington, TN, twelve grandchildren , twenty great grandchildren and his loyal canine companion, "Buster".
  He was also preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Hayes and one brother, Robert Newman.
