Angie Babett Ward Obituary

"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."  Proverbs 31:31

On Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024, Angie Babett Ward, 60, resident of Ripley, passed away unexpectedly at her home in the Gravestown Community.

Visitation for Angie will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Thursday, July 18 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home and will continue Friday morning from 9 AM until service time at 1 PM. Funeral Services will begin at 1 PM Friday, July 19 at The Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Winston Smith and Bro. Randy Hamilton officiating. A graveside service to follow at Beech Hill Cemetery in Benton County.

Angie was born April 10, 1964, in Corinth, MS, the daughter of James "Butch" and Lavaughn Morrison Carmichiel of Corinth and was a 1982 graduate of Corinth High School. Her life was exemplified by hard work that included Action Lane in the production department in Belden for 10 years, a waitress for Country Inn II, Quality Glass for 14 years and never showed signs of slowing down. On January 5, 2010, she married David Ward and with Angie's sense of humor and enthusiasm for life and David's more practical side, made them the perfect couple.

A Christian, Angie was larger than life with an even larger one-of-a-kind personality. She always stood out from everyone with her quick wit, her southern charm, as everyone was known as "Sugar" or "Darlin" and people knew exactly how she felt about them-she never was one to "sugar coat".  As an active woman all her life, she devoted herself to her friends who were many and was faithful to her family, no matter what they did or where they went as long as they were together. Her impact was best measured most by the time shared with her husband, the countless hours dedicated to her "girls" and for the people whose lives she touched with her extraordinary strength and sense of humor.

Memories will continue to be shared by her husband, David Ward, her parents, Butch and Lavaughn Carmichiel of Corinth, two daughters, Neely Stroupe (Ashley) and Taylor Crawford, both of Ripley, one brother, Sammie Carmichiel (Amy) of Corinth, one granddaughter, Payton Crawford and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by a brother, Lynn Carmichiel and her grandparents, Elton Charmichiel, Charlie Yancey, Gertrude Childs, Inez Chapman and Sam Morrison.

Donations can be directed to the Ronald McDonald House or American Heart and Kidney Association in her memory.

The Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories with Angie's family.
